ORDINANCE NUMBER 99-9936
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
TRACTS OF LAND, IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described tracts of land, to -wit:
TRACT 1:
A tract of land located in the South Half of the Northeast Quarter (S%2
NE'/a) of Section Two, Township Fifteen South, Range Three West (2-
T15S-R3W) of the Sixth Principal Meridian (61 P.M.), in Saline County,
Kansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the North line of said South Half of
the Northeast Quarter (S%2 NE1/4) Nine Hundred Seventy -Nine
and Fifty Hundredths (979.50) feet West of the Northeast
corner of the South Half (S'/2) ;
- thence South Eighty -Nine degrees, Fifty -Six minutes, and
Twenty -Nine seconds East (S89°56'29"E), a distance of Seven
Hundred Fifty -Four and Twenty Hundredths (754.20) feet to a
point Two Hundred Twenty -Five and Thirty Hundredths
(225.30) feet West of the Northeast corner of said South Half
of the Northeast Quarter (S'/2 NE'/4);
- thence South Seventeen degrees, Forty -One minutes, and
Fifty -One seconds West (S 17 °41'51 "W), a distance of
Seventy -Eight and Seventy Hundredths (78.70) feet to a point
Seventy -Five and Zero Hundredths (75.00) feet South of the
North line of said South Half of the Northeast Quarter (S%2
NE 1/4);
- thence South Seventy -Two degrees, Eighteen minutes, and
Nine seconds East (S72 ° 18'09"E), a distance of Sixty and
Zero Hundredths (60.00) feet;
- thence South Eighteen degrees, Seven minutes, and Five
seconds West (S 18 ° 07'05"W), along the Interstate 135
Highway right-of-way, a distance of One Thousand Two

a point on the South line of said South Half of the Northeast
Quarter (S%2 NE '/4) and Five Hundred Seventy -Eight and
Twenty Hundredths (578.20) feet West of the Southeast corner
of said South Half of the Northeast Quarter (S%2 NE'/4);
- thence North Eighty -Nine degrees, Fifty -Eight minutes, and
Thirty -Six seconds West (N89°58'36"W), along the North line
of the Highway right-of-way Four Hundred Four and Sixty
Hundredths (404.60) feet to the intersection of the East right-
of-way line of said Interstate 135;
- thence North Zero degrees, Fifty -Two minutes, and Twenty -
Five seconds East (N00 ° 52'25"E), along the East right-of-way
line of Interstate 135, a distance of One Thousand Three
Hundred Twenty -Five and Seventy -Eight Hundredths
(1,325.78) feet to the Point of Beginning;
subject to the right-of-way of the Kansas Power and Light
Company;
The above described tract of land contains Eight Hundred Four Thousand, Eight
Hundred Seventy -Nine (804,879) square feet or Eighteen and Forty -Eight Hundredths (18.48) acres,
more or less.
HIGHWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY:
A tract of land located in the East Half (E%2) of Section Two, Township
Fifteen South, Range Three West (2-T15S-R3W) of the Sixth Principal
Meridian (6' P.M.), in Saline County, Kansas, more particularly described
as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of the South Half of the
Northeast Quarter (S%2 NE'/4) of said Section Two (2);
- thence West along the North line of the South Half of the
Northeast Quarter (S'/2 NE'/4) of said Section Two (2) on an
assumed bearing of North Eighty -Nine degrees, Fifty -Six
minutes, and Twenty -Nine seconds West (N89°56'29"W), a
distance of Sixty -One and Ninety -Two Hundredths (61.92)
feet to the West right-of-way line of Ninth Street and the Point
of Beginning;
- thence South One degree, Twenty -Seven minutes, and
Twenty -Eight seconds West (SOI °27'28"W), along said West
right-of-way, a distance of One Thousand Five Hundred
Twenty -Nine and Ninety -Eight Hundredths (1,529.98) feet;
- thence South Thirty -Four degrees, Sixteen minutes and

A tract of land located in the East Half of the Southeast Quarter (E%2 SEI/4)
of Section Two, Township Fifteen South, Range Three West (2-T15S-
R3W) of the Sixth Principal Meridian (61 P.M.) in Saline County, Kansas,
more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter
(SEI/4);
- thence on an assumed bearing of North Ninety degrees, Zero
minutes, and Zero seconds West (N90°00'00"W), along the
South line of said Southeast Quarter (SEI/4), a distance of Sixty
and Zero Hundredths (60.00) feet to a point on the West right-
of-way line of Highway 81, said point being the Point of
Beginning;
- thence North Ninety degrees, Zero minutes and Zero
seconds West (N90000'00"W), continuing along said South

R3W) of the Sixth Principal Meridian (61h P.M.), in Saline County, Kansas,
more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter
(SE I/4);
- thence on an assumed bearing of South Ninety degrees, Zero
minutes, and Zero seconds West (S90°00'00"W), along the
South line of said Southeast Quarter (SEI/4), a distance of One
Hundred Ten and Zero Hundredths (110.00) feet to the Point
of Beginning;
- thence continuing along said South line at a bearing of South
Ninety degrees, Zero minutes, and Zero seconds West

Three Hundred Twenty-one (274,321) square feet or Six and Thirty Hundredths (6.30) acres, more
or less.
TRACT 4:
The Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NE'/4 NE'/4 ) of Section
Eleven, Township Fifteen South, Range Three West (11-T15S-R3W) of
the Sixth Principal Meridian (6' P.M.), in Saline County, Kansas, less
Interstate 135 and Old Highway 81 right-of-way.
The above described tract of land contains One Million, Three Hundred Fifty -Nine
Thousand, Seventy -Two (1,359,072) square feet or Thirty -One and Twenty Hundredths (31.20)
acres, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526,
inclusive, are hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That the tracts of land described in Section 1 above shall be zoned A-1
AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
