99-9958 Historic SignCanmlitleMOSeI'm (Published in the Salina Journal December/0, 1999) ORDINANCE NUMBER 99-9958 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE POLE SIGN STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 212 EAST IRON AVENUE AS AN HISTORIC SIGN IN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the structure located on the following described real estate to wit: Part of Lots 110 and 112, beginning at the northwest comer of Lot 112, thence east twenty-nine and two tenths (29.2) feet, thence southeasterly along the right-of-way eighty (80) feet, thence southwesterly fourteen and five tenths (14.5) feet, thence south thirteen and five tenths (13.5) feet, thence west thirty-eight (38) feet, thence north one -hundred (100) feet to the point of beginning on Fourth Street, Original Town of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. The above described tract of land contains nine hundredths (.09) acres more or less and is known as 212 East Iron Avenue. Section 2. That the types of significant exterior architectural features of the nominated property that should be protected are: a) Flange metal support post and tapered sign support, cowl light extensions and two (2) porcelain enamel finish metal sign panels, displaying "Use Champlin Oils." Section 3. That the types of construction activities that cannot be undertaken without a certificate of appropriateness include: a) Alteration or removal of porcelain enamel finish metal sign panels displaying "Use Champlin Oils." b) Demolition or removal, in whole or in part, of the sign mounting structure, its associated frame and sign panels. Section 4.
