AN ORDINANCE providing for the calling and holding of an election of the electors of the
City of Salina, Kansas, to vote upon the question of authorizing the Board of Commissioners
of said city to issue general obligation bonds of the City of an amount of not exceeding
$120,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of purchasing a site for and erecting and
equipping a public building thereon for such city, to -wit: a public fire station.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, deem it necessary to pro-
vide for the purchasing of a site for and erecting and equipping of a public building thereon
for such city, to -wit: a public fire station; and
WHEREAS, the cost of purchasing such a site and erecting and equipping a public building there=
on for such city, will not exceed the estimated amount of $120,000.00; and j
WHEREAS it is necessaryto issue
general obligation bonds of the city, payable by a general
tax toa the cost of
topay purchasing a site for and erecting and equipping, thereon said public ;
building; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary, before said bonds may be legally issued, to submit the proposition
of issuing same for said purpose to the qualified electors of said city at an election to be
held within thirty (30) days from the date of adoption and publication of this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, is a city of the first class; and
WHEREAS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated, will not create a debt in ex
cess of the limit now provided by law; and
S0, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:1
Section 1. That the preambles of the ordinance are hereby incorporated herein, anc
that an election is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on Tuesday, April
5, 1955, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 7:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, at the time
of the regular city election and within thirty (30) days after the adoption and publication
of this ordinance, according to law, and that such election shall be held at the usual place
of holding elections and shall be oonducted by the officers or persons provided by law for
holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that the Mayor and two additional mem-
bers of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, being a majority of the
governing body of said city, shall and they are hereby ordered and directed, jointly and
severally to publish notice of said election in the manner and form directed and required by
Section 10-120, General Statutes of Kansas, 1949, and that the purpose of calling said elec-
tion is to submit to the qualified electors of said city, the proposition of issuing general
obligation bonds of said city in an amount not exceeding $120,000.00 to pay the cost of pur-
chasing a site for amount not exceeding $120,000.00 to pay the cost of purchasing a site for
and erecting and equipping, thereon, a public building for such city, to -wit: a public fire
station, as now particularly set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors of
said city at said election shall be substatially the following:
