+AN ORDINANCE regulating burning of trash and the maintenance of certain types of fires within
;the City of Salina and providing a penalty for Violation thereof and amending Section 10-115,
Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1948 and repealing the original Section
10 -115 -
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. AMENDMENT. That Section 10-115, revised Ordinances of the City of
Salina, Kansas, 1948, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 10-115. Boiling Pitch and Tar; Bonfires Near Buildings; Hours;
No Fires on Pavement. No person shall within the city limits boil any
pitch, tar, or other inflammable substance of like nature, unless the
same be done in an open space not less than twenty feet distance from
any building or others property that can be endangered thereby, or within
a building specially designated for such purpose and at such distance
from any other building as the Fire Chief shall direct; nor shall any
person set on fire within siad city limits any hay, straw, paper, shavings,
rubbish or other combustible material within twenty feet of any building,
and then only between the hours of sunrise and sunset; Provided,
that in no case shall any such material be burned upon any avenue, street,
Alley or gutter within the city paved with bitulithic, asphalt or concrete
pavement or wooden blocks or bricks; Provided further, that no garbage shall
beburned and that all trash, rubbish and other combustible material shall
be burned only in a fireproof receptacle which shall be built of such
material and in such manner as may be satisfactory to the Fire Chief.
Section 2. PENALTY. A person convicted of a violation of this ordinance shall

The deemdd guilty of a misdemeanor and shall for conviction be punished by a fine of not more
than $100.00.

Section 3. REPEAL. That the original of Section 10-115, Revised Ordinance of
Salina, 1948 be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its

adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
