ORDINANCE NUMBER 00-9971
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 410
WEST ASH STREET, MEMORIAL HALL, AS A HERITAGE CONSERVATION (HC)
LANDMARK.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the structure located on the following described real estate to wit:
All Bishop's Reserve, Replat of Bishop's Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas. The above-described tract of land contains One and Seventy-eight Hundredths
(1.78) acres, more or less.
Known as 410 West Ash Street,
e and the same is hereby designated as a Heritage Conservation (HC) Landmark.
Section 2. That the types of significant exterior architectural features of the nominated
property that should be protected are:
a) Neo-classical detailing, consisting of masonry and decorative stone; composite
stone portico, consisting of columns, platform and entablature; bronze grilles,
existing stone door and window surrounds, stringcourses, parapets and roof trim.
Section 3. That the types of construction or alteration other than those requiring a
building permit, that cannot be undertaken without obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness
I include:
a) Installation of additional driveways and parking lots in the front yard areas
surrounding the building;
b) Installation of additional objects or structures within the front yard areas
surrounding the building.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
