ORDINANCE NUMBER 5926

1N ORDMAIM ratifying and confirming a contract with H.J. Taylor Construction Co., for the
construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas,
;heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 306, 307, 308, 309, and 310, and
jproviding for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost therof, pending issuance and
sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the
H.J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted
to the Board of Commissioners on December 13, 1954, which is hereby found to be the lowest
and best bid for such work, and contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city
to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on December 20, 1954, for
the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
in easement for utilities at the southeast corner of Lot 11,
Block 8, Sunset manor Addition; thence northwesterly along the
center line of easement for utilities 453.0 feet, where a
manhole will be constructed which will be the terminus of
said Lateral Sewer Number 306.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 14 feet north of the south line of Stack Avenue and
on center line of alley first east of Delaware e. -tended north,
thence east in Stack Avenue 171 feet where a manhole will be
consturcted, at which manhole a branch will extend north and
a branch will extend south. The north branch will begin at
said manhole, thence north along, the center line of Missouri
Avenue 85 feet where a manhole will be constructed; thence
east along a line 4 feet north of the north line of Lot 12
Block 14, Stack Addition, 92 feet where a manhole will be
constructed; thence north 316 feet where a manhole will be
constructed which terminates the north branch of a Lateral
311; the south branch will begin at the manhole in the center line
of Missouri Avenue and 14 feet north of the south line of Stack
Avenue; thence south along the center line of Missouri Avenue
514 feet, there a manhole will be constructed which will be
the terminus of Latera1307.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole in
the center line of Lewis Street and the center line of easement
in Wymore Addition; thence south slong the center line of Lewis
Street and 345.13 feet to the center line of easement in Harper
Addition extended east; thence west along center line of said
easement in Harper Addition 565 feet where a manhole will be
constructed which will be terminus of lateral 308.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole in the center
line of McAdams Road and center line of utility easement ex-
tended north in Block 3, Hoffman Replat of Part of Blocks 1 and
2 and all of Blocks 7 and 8, Hageman Park Addition; thence
south along center line of said utility easement 510 feet where
a manhole will be constructed which will be terminus of Lateral

An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole in the center
line of McAdams Road and the center line of utility easement
extended north in Block 1, Hoffman Replat of Part of Blocks
1 and 2 and all of Blocks 7 and 8 Hageman Park Addition; thence
south along center line of said easement 510 feet where a man-
hole will be constructed which will be terminus of Lateral 310.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the
ty Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said constractor and under the terms of said
tract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
!issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
;the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of ti 11,462.55 for such
!work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4-1 per cent per annum and to mature not
`later than December 1, 1955, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times'.as may the
smoney for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said

contractor and to be redeemdd and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are
issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
;its publication once in the official city paper.
