Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving, and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: i Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal E of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on October 4, 1954, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of 3 Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on October 11, 1954, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving and grading of Eleventh Street from the north line of Franklin Street to the north line of Wilson Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5895• Paving and grading of Eleventh Street from the north line of Franklin Street eto the south line of Frost Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5895• Paving and grading of Phillips Street with o" reinforced concrete 28 feet back of curb from the north line of Morrison Avenue to the north line of Prescott Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5895• Paving and grading of Wilson Street with 6" reinforced concrete 33 feet back of curb to back of curb from the east side of Fifth Street to the west side of Front Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5895• Curbing,guttering, paving, and g g, p g, grading of Bond Street, with concrete 32 feet wide from face of curb to face of curb, from the east line of Fifth Street to the west line of Front Street, as provided for by Ordinance Num- ber 5895. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made -carts of this i _ ordinance. i Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City I Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $195,774.70, for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4z per cent per annum, and to mature not later than December 1, 1955, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemad and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu there- of . Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
