6045 Authorize Contract1 1 1 3 ORDINANCE NUMBER C (Published in the Salina Journal__.,��. , 1956 ' IAN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Consct truiott Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 343, 344, and 345, and providing for the !issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. QBE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1. That the acceptance of the Cit of Salina Kansas of the p y , , proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 20, 1956, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on March 27, 1956, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole on the center line of easement and at the northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 6, Sunset Maxtor Addition; thence north along said easement to the northwest corner of Lot 11 of said Block; thence east along center line of easement for utilities 400.0 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 343- An 43• An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole in easement for utilities and at the north- east corner of Lot 61 Block 4, Sunset Manor Addition; thence north 121.0 feet thence 25.0 feet where a cleanout will be installed which will be terminus of Lateral 344. An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole in center line of easement and at the north- east corner of Lot 71 Block 21 Sunset Manor Addition; thence north along the center line of said easement 130.0 feet where a manhole will be constructed which will be terminus of Lateral 345. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and con- tract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on Pile in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on Pile in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said con- tract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. i Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, ;he total amount thereof not to exceed the contractrice of p $3,570.60 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 421 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1., 1957, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required., such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement bonds are issued in lieu i thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the Official city paper.
