!AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Young Construction Company for the
iconstruction of certain lateral sanitary sewers and main sanitary sewer and pumping station
in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
3 329, 330, 331, 332, 333, 33�+, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339, 3�+0, 341. and 342 and Main Sanitary
Sewer District "AC" and Pumping Station, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes
'to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the
Young Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the
Board of Commissioners on March 13, 1956, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid
for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said
contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on March 20, 1956, for the constru-
tion of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing
manhole which is in the center of Lewis Avenue and
directly east of the centerline of easement for
utilities first north of Russell Avenue; thence south
along the centerline of Lewis Avenue 321.5 feet to a
point directly east of the centerline of utility
easement first north of Cloud Street; thence west
along the centerline of said easement 560 feet where
&,manhole will be built which will be the terminus
of Lateral 329.
An 8 inch sanitary sewer beginning with a manhole
to be constructed in the center of Otis Avenue and
directly north of the centerline of the alley first
east of Third Street; thence south along centerline
of said alley 350 feet where a manhole will be built
which will be the terminus of Lateral 330.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an exisiting man-
hole which is in first alley east of Ohio and 275 feet
north of the centerline of first alley north of Greeley
Avenue; thence north along centerline of said alley east
of Ohio Street 100 feet where a`manhole will be built
which will be terminus of Lateral 331.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be con-
structed over a 10 inch sewer in Cloud Street and 95 feet
east of the east line of Quincy Avenue south of Cloud
Street; thence south along easement for utilities first
east of Quincy Avenue to a point 20 feet south of the
north line of Max Avenue; thence east along a line 20
feet south of the north line of Matic Avenue 237.0 feet
where a manhole will built which will be terminus of
Lateral 332.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing
manhole which is 20 feet east of the west line of
Norton Street and on the center line extended west
of easement for utilities second north of Max Avenue;
thence east along center line of said easement 180
feet where a manhole will be built which will be the
terminus of Lateral 333•
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing
manhole which is 20 feet east of the west line of
Norton Street and on the center line extended west
of easement for utilities first north of Max Avenue;
thence east along center line of said easement 180
feet where a manhole will be built which will be
terminus of Lateral 334.

An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 20 feet east of the west line of Norton Street and
on the center line of easement for utilities extended east
of first north of Ralph Avenue; thence west along center
line of said easement 545 feet where a manhole will be
built which will be terminus of Lateral 335•
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 20 feet east of the west line of Norton Street
and on the center line of easement for utilities extended
west of first north of Ralph Avenue; thence east along the
center line of said easement 180 feet where a manhole will
be built which will be terminus of Lateral 336.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 20 feet east of the west line of Norton Street and
on the center line of easement for utilities extended east
of first north of Carl Avenue, thence west along the center
line of said easement 545 feet where a manhole will be built
which will be terminus of lateral 337•
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing man-
hole which is 20 feet east of the west line of Norton
Street and on the center line of easement for utilities
extended west of first north of Carl Avenue; thence east
along the center line of said easement 180 feet where a
manhole will be built which will be ther terminus of
Lateral 338.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 20 feet east of the west line of Norton Street
and on the center line of easement for utilities first
north of Albert Avenue extended east; thence west along
center line of said easement 545 feet where a manhole
will be built which will be the terminus of Lateral 339•
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is 22 feet east of the west line of Norton Street and
on the center line of easement for utilities first north of
Albert Avenue extended west; thence east along center line
of said easement 580 feet where a manhole will be built
which will be terminus of lateral 340.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing
manhole which is 20 feet east of the west line of
Norton street and on the center line extended west
of easement for utilities first north of Leslie
Avenue; thence west along the center line of said
easement 545 feet where a manhole will be constructed
which will be terminus of Lateral 341.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing
manhole which is 20 feet east of the west line of
Norton Avenue and on the center line of easement
for utilities first north of Leslie Avenue extended
west; thence east along the center line of said
easement 580 feet where a manhole will be constructed
which will be terminus of Lateral 342.
A ten inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
in Cloud Street and 142 feet east of the east line of Quincy
Street which is south of Cloud Street, thence east on Cloud
Street to a point which is 20 feet east of the west line of
Norton Street which is south of Cloud Street, there a manhole
to be constructed; thence south with a 10 inch clay pipe
sewer along a line 20 feet east of the west line of Norton
Street to the center line of easement for utilities first
north of Ralph Avenue, there a manhole to be constructed;
thence south with an 8 inch clay pipe sewer 20 feet east of
the west line of Norton Street to the center line of ease-
ment for utilities first north of Leslie Avenue where a man-
hole will be constructed which will be terminus of Main
Sanitary Sewer "AC".

Construct a pumping station for the purpose of pumping
the sewage of such Main Sanitary Sewer "AC" into the
present existing sewer located at the intersection of
Quincy Street and Cloud Street, in order to conduct the
sewage of said Main Sanitary Sewer "AC" to a point of
outlet.
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and con-
tract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk
which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $56,323.50 for such work, such
,notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature not later than

December 1, 1957, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for
the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor
and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in
lieu thereof.
Section 4. 11,hat this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
