AN ORDINANCE providing for the appropriation and condemning of certain land within the city
limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the use of said City for the construction thereon
of a fire station and related facilities in order to provide fire protection for the City
and its inhabitants:
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Salina, Kansas, on December 20, 1955, by Resolu-
tion No. 16+1, found it necessary to appropriate certain private property in Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, as described in said resolution and further described hereinafter for the
use of said City for the construction thereon of a fire station and related facilities to be
used in order to provide fire protection for the said City and its inhabitants, and directing]
that a survey and description of said land so required be made; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of December, 1955, a survey and description of the land so required
was duly filed;
SO, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA,KANSAS':

Section 1. The following described land is hereby condemned and appropriated for the
use of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the construction thereon of a fire station and re--
lated facilities to be used in order to provide fire protection for the said City and its
inhabitants, to -wit:
Lot Twenty (20) on Minneapolis Avenue and Lots Twenty-one (21) and
Twenty-three (23) on Santa Fe Avenue in the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan
University, an addition to the City of Salina, in Saline County,Kansas.
Section 2. 'There shall be no special benefit district for such improvement, the
entire cost thereof being charged to the city as a whole and to be paid for out of proceeds
from bonds heretofore authorized and issued.
Section 3. That the City Attorney, is hereby ordered and directed to forthwith
prepare and present in the name of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,Kansas,
a written application to the Judge of the District Court of Saline County, Kansas, praying
for an order of appointment of commissioners to make appraisement and assessment of damages
arising from the appropriation of said real estate described in Section 1 hereof, and to do
and perforin all things in and about the procuring and recording of said order of appointment
required by law, and completing the appropriation of said land as provided by law.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
publication in the official city paper.
