ORDINANCE NUMBER 6022

AN ORDINANCE providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the
City of Salina, Kansas, prescribing the corporate limits of said City, and repealing Section
6 of Ordinance No. 5980.
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent to the inclusion of certain land in the City of Salina,
Kansas, ha:rc come to pass;
BE IT NOW, THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City
of Salina, which land has been platted into lots and blocks, and is part of a tract known as
CLOUD ADDITION now in Saline County, and is legally described as follows;
Beginning at a point on the west .line of Section 23, Township 14,
South, Range 3, West of the 6th ;principal W-ridian, which point
is 1322.1 ft north of the sou-thwest conger of said section,

beginning. Containing 24.25 acres more or less.
Section 2. That the corporate limits of the City of Salina be and the same are
hereby extended to include the territory added to, taken into, and made part of said City
under the provisions of the preceding section of this Ordinance and that all of the land
lying within the following described boundaries be and the same is hereby declared to be with-
in the corporate limits, hereby defined as;
Commencing at a point on the center line of Ninth Street extended south,
770 feet south of the intersection of the center line of Ninth Street, with
the center line of Cloud Avenue, said intersection being the corner common to
Section 23, 24, 25, 26, Township 14 South, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal
Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, thence west to a point on the northeast
right of way line of U. S. 81 Highway By -Pass which point is 750 feet due
south of the north line of said Section 25, thence north westerly along the

northeast right of way line of U. S. 81 By -Pass to the intersection of said
right of way line with the west boundary of Rush Street extended; thence
north to the northwest corner of Park View Addition to said City; thence
west along the south line of Highland Court Addition to the southwest corner
of said addition; thence north to the center line of Jewell Avenue; thence west
1,388.5 feet to a point on the south boundary of Liken -Foster Addition to said
City, thence south a distance of 810 feet along the eastern boundary of Cloud
Addition, thence west and parallel with the south section line of Section 23,
Township 14 South, Range 3 West of the Sixth principal meridian to the west
right of way line of Cherokee Drive, thence northerly along the said right of
way line to the west line of said Section 23, thence north to the northwest
corner of the southwest quarter of Section 23, Township 14 south, Range 3 west
of the Sixth Principal Meridian, thence north to the northwest corner of the
southwest quarter of Section 23, Township 14 South, Range 3 west of the Sixth
Principal Meridian; thence west 993.3 feet, thence north 2640 feet to a point
on the north line of Section 22, township 14 South, Range 3 west of the Sixth
Principal Meridian, thence east 993.3 feet to the northwest corner of Section
23, Township 14, South, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, thence

said lines lying north of Walnut Street, thence north along the center line
of the channel of said Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to its
next intersection with the center line of Dry Creek as originally existing;
thence down the center line of the channel of Dry Creek as originally exist-
ing to the point of intersection of said line with the center line of the
channel of Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established; being the first
point of intersection of said lines lying north of the main line right-of-
way of the Union Pacific Railroad and lying adjacent to Block 10 in Chicago
Addition; thence northeasterly down the center line of the channel of the
Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to the next intersection of
said line with the center line of Dry Creek; thence down the center line of
Dry Creek as originally existing to its intersection with the west line of
Pacific Addition, being the west line of the northwest quarter of the north-
east quarter of Section 11, Township 14, Range 3, thence north along said
line to the northline of said Section 11, thence east along said line of
Pacific Avenue to the intersection of said line of pacific to the intersec-
tion of said line with the southwesterly line, extended southeasterly of Lots
11 3, and 5 of Block 32 in Military Addition, thence northeasterly along said
line and along the west line of Lots 7 and 9 in said Block 32, being the
westerly boundary of said Block 32 in Military Addition, to the northwest
quarter of said Lot 9 in Block 32, thence due west 40 feet to a point; thence
due north 152 feet to a point; thence due east 170 feet to the east line of
the alley in said Block 32, thence due north to the north line of Harsh Ave-
nue in Military Addition; thence east along the north line of HarshAvenue to
the west line of Twelfth Street in Military Addition; thence north along the
west line of Twelfth Street to the southwesterly line of the abandoned rail-
road right -of- cunni g through said Military Addition; thence east to a
point in said 3A'L�%ay due south of the intersection of the northeasterly
line of said right-of-way with the south line of Antrim Avenue; thence north
through said point of intersection to the north line of Antrim Avenue; thence
east along the north line of Antrim Avenue to the west line of Eleventh Street
in Military Addition; thence north along said line; and said line extended
north through Tucker Park, to the intersection of said line with the center
line of Euclid Avenue, being the center line, running east and west of Section
2, Township 14, Range 3, thence east along the center line of said Section 2
to a point 159.6 feet of the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of said
Section 2, Township 14, South, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian;
thence north 395 feet, more or less, to a point in the center of the original
channel of Dry Creek (as heretofore existed) thence northerly and westerly up
the center of the original channel of Dry Creek to its intersection with the
north line of the south half of the northeast quarter of said Section 2; thence
east to a point 106.1 feet west of the east line of the northeast quarter of
said Section 2; thence south 237.8 feet; thence east 45 feet; thence south 512

south to a point in the south line of the northeast quarter of said Section 2

of said Section 1; (said Point being approximately 230 feet north of the south

quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 25, Township 14, South, Range 3
west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, thence west to the west right-of-way
i line of the Union Pacific Railroad, thence south 280 feet along said west
right-of-way, thence west 1527 feet to the east right-of-way line of U.S. 81
I Highway, thence north 830 feet along said east right-of-way line of U.S. 81
Highway; thence west 5713 feet to the center line of Ninth Street being the
point of beginning.
1 Section 3. That Section 6. of Ordinance No. 5980 be and it is hereby repealed.
