6009 Utility ImprovementsI ORDINANCE NUMBER 6009 i (Published in The Salina Journal ��''�,�; F1�,��r� ��� , 1955) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore' designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 327 and 328, and providing for the issuance 1x temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. 0 BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 1, 1955, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 8., 1955, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: An eight -inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 12 inch sewer which is 7 feet west of the center line of Ohio Street and direct- ly east of the center line of first alley north of Mell- inger Drive; thence west along the center line of said alley to a point 10 feet west of the east line of Lot 1, Block 5 of Riker Addition where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 327. r An eight -inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a pumping station at Euclid Avenue and the first alley east of Fifth Street; thence east along a3ine 10 feet north of the south line of Euclid Avenue to the center line of the first alley east of Third Street; thence south along center line of said alley east of Third Street to the center line of Otis Avenue; thence east along the center line of Otis Avenue to a point 10 feet east of the west line of Front Street; thence south along a line 10 feet east of the west line of Front Street to a point 10 feet south of thenorth line of Lot 1, Block 4, Golden Belt subdivision where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 328. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and con- tract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms k of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. 4 Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $15,832.85 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1956, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Impovement bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
