6108 Authorize ContractCONSOLIDA TEA -SALIN A 1 1 1 t ORDINANCE NUMBER � 10 8' (Published in The Salina Journal J���� 3 , 1956) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and comfirming a contract with 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral Sanitary Sewers and pumping station in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 351, 352, 353, and Pumping Station for Lateral 353, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of Bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted', to the Board of Commissioners on November 20, 1956, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 27, 1956, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: An eight -inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 24 inch sewer which is 10 feet :,west :cif .,the eenter::line of Ohio Street and 10 feet north of the south line of Greely Avenue; thence east along a line 10 feet north of the south line of Greely Avenue 255 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 351. " An eight -inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole to be constructed over an existing 8 inch sewer line in the j intersection of Roberts Avenue and Page Avenue; thence south in Roberts Avenue along a line 10 feet from the east line thereof 150 feet; thencd southeasterly along easement 180.31 feet at which point a manhole will be built and sewer will branch with Branch A. Following easement south to southeast corner of Lot 5, Block 6, Ingermanson Heights where a manhole will be built and Branch B, which follows easement southeast to center of Ingman Road; thence south along easement to the southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 7 j Ingermanson Heights where a manhole will be built which i will be the terminus of Lateral 352• An eight -inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a pumping station to be installed at the intersection of Oakdale Drive and Oakdale Park Entrance; thence south west following Oakdale Park Road 1468 feet where a manhole will be constructed which terminates Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 353 Construct a pumping station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of such Lateral Sanitary sewer number 353 into the present existing sewer located at the north of Oakdale Drive in the north and south alley in Block 15, Cunningham's replat in order to conduct the sewage of said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 353 to a point of outlet. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. i Section 2. Said Improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of CON SOLIDATED-SAI.INA 1 1 1 the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as requik-ed by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $34,494.07 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1957, and to be issued in such amounts and tt such times as may the money for thep payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor, and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
