6105 Authorize ContractCONSOLIDATED-SALINA ORDINANCE NUMBER 6105 (Published in The Salina Journal �� ; .� %2.r- j , 1956 ) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the L. W. Rexroad and Son Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary j notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of Bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Con2issioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1. That the acceptance by tht City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the L. W. Rex -road & Son Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on October 30, 1956, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work,and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of thiel City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 6, 1956, for' the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit; Paving and grading of Charlotte Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of f gutter) from the east line of Gebhart Street to the west line of Fourth Street, as provided for by I Resolution Number 1746 and Ordinance 6097. Curbing, guttering and grading of Crawford Avenue, on the north side, from the center line of Viemont Avenue west to the City Limits, as provided for by Resolution Number 1727 and Ordinance 6097. Paving and grading of Connecticut Street with Concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the north line of Gypsur.i Avenue to the north line of Stapler Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1722 and Ordinance 6097. Paving and grading of Eleventh Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Jewell Avenue -to I the north line of Kirwin Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1743 and Ordinance 6097. Paving and grading of Grand Avenue with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the center line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided I for b Resolution Number 1 Y 737 and Ordinance 6097. I Paving and grading of Haven Avenue, with concrete 28 feet wide toe of f (twenty-eight ( ) gutter to toe of gutter) from the east line of Viemont Avenue to the west line of Whittinghill Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1725 and Ordinance 6097. I Curbing, guttering and grading of the west side of Roach, from the center line of Carl Avenve to the center line of Leslie Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1728 and Ordinance 6097. i Paving and grading of Sherman Street (twenty --eight (28) P feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with concrete from the north line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Wilson Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1732 and Ordinance 6097. 1 Paving and grading of Sherman Street with Concrete (twenty- eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the north line of Franklin Street to the south line of Wilson Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1742 and I Ordinance 6097 CON SOLIDA TF.D- SALINA 1 Paving and grading of Tenth Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the center line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided for by Resolution Number. 1736 and Ordinance 6097. Paving and grading of Twelfth Street with concrete from the south line of Washington Street to the North line of Prescott Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1719 and Ordinance 6097. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contractors hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be build and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $71,087.50 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 2 per cent per annum, and to mature not later than Decemoer 1. 1957, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption Lnd publication once in the official city paper.
