We, the below naœed individuals residing in the vicinity of the slough
area bordered by Bond, Crawford, Wood and 2nd Street, respectfully request
your help in'obtaining action to correct the serious flooding problem
that exists when heavy rains occur. Since this area has. been designated
a water shed instead of the originålly planned city park (handles all
drain offs fro~ southeast Salina), and since the building of the Central
High School additional parking lot (which drains west into a storm sewer
at Bond and Front constructed in January 1969 and on into the slough), a
heavy rain fills this water shed to an overflow causing flooding and a
threat to our property. Much damage has alrea~y a::curred.
Our property was developed before the two above actions were taken by the
City of Sal ina, and no threat of flooding existed. We now live in constant
fear of flooding. Respectfully request adequate stoi::m sewers be built to
handle this water to preclude flooding of the area bordered by Bond,
Crawford, Wood and 2nd Street.
