6165 Street Improvementsn 1 CONSOLIDATED SAL: NA _ -- - -- - - f ORDINANCE NUMBER �c J I (Public d in The Salina Journal , 1957) AN ORDINANCE ratif ng and confirming a contract with the Brown and Brown Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. T�at the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and BrownCo struction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor' as submitted to the of Commissioners on July 16, 1957, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commiss:.oners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 25, 1957, f for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering and grading of Anderson Avenue from the center line of Fourth Street to a point 25 feet east of the west line of Lot 12, Block 3, College View Addition, as provided for by Resolution Number 1832, and Ordinance Number 610- 11 1 - Curbing, guttering and grading of Coronado Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue south 435 feet, as provided for by Resolution Number 1831 and Ordinance Number a3k. Paving and grading of Charlotte Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Gebhart Street to the east line of Larson Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1827 and Ordinance Number 615�- Paving and grading of Charlobte Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of iarson Street to the I east line of Simmons Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1828 and Ordinance Number 6�3. Curbing, guttering and grading of Woodlawn Avenue on the south side from the east line of Pershing Street to the west l6ne of Eleventh Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1753 and Ordinance Number ". at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal aid contractors hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improve*ents shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plani and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said Contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progressed in the manner and form as required by law,the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $ 186,769.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 lber cent per annum, and to mature not later thah December 1, 1958, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
