AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of bonds of the City of Salina,
Kansas, in the suniof $300,000.00 to pay the cost of enlarging, developing and improving a
system of works, for the treatment and disposal of the sewage of said city, to be designated;
as Series 5-175.
WHEREAS, at an election duly called and regularly held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on
October 25, 1955, there was submitted to the qualified electors of said city the proposition,
of "Shall the City of Salina issue its general obligation bonds, payable by a general tax,
in the amount of $300,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of enlarging and improving
a system of works, for the treatment and disposal of the sewage of said city", all pursuant,
to Ordinance Number 5991 of the said city and the laws of the State of Kansas; and
WHEREAS, all directives of said Ordinance Number 5991 and the requisites of the laws of the
State of Kansas were fully and timely complied with; and
WHEREAS, at such election, a majority of the votes cast thereat upon said proposition
were cast in favor of Authorizing the said City of Salina to issue its bonds in said sum
for such purpose, all as duly and regularly determined by the Board of Commissioners as a
Board of Canvasses (ex -officio) in the manner and form required by law; and

WHEREAS, Murray A. Wilson, a competent engineer, by Resolution Number 1848, duly adopted
by the Board of Commissioners of said City, was directed to and did submit unto said Board of
Commissioners, under oath, a detailed estimate of the cost of the enlarging and developing
and improving a sy tem of works all in compliance with the directives of said Resolution
Number 1848, and
WHEREAS, said Board of Commissioners did receive, accept and approve said detailed estimate
of the cost thereo ; and
WHEREAS, said estimate of cost was the sum of $300,000.00 and, SO, NOW THEREFORE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Commissioners of the Ctty of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1.at the foregoing preambles are hereby made a part of this ordinance.
That the Board of ommissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, deem it necessary to provide
for the enlarging and improving of a system of works, for the treatment and disposal of the
sewage of the City as heretofore duly authorized by the qualified electors of said city.
j That for the purpose of paying the cost of the building thereof it is necessary and it is

hereby ordered tha Internal Improvement and General Obligation bonds of the City of Salina,
Kansas, in the total. principal sum of $300,000.00, be issued, being the cost of the building
thereof, as heretofore duly authorized by the qualified electors of said city. That the
sum of $300,000.00 shall be represented by 300 bonds of the principal sum of $1,000.00 each
and numbered 1 to 00, both inclusive, and said bonds shall be dated July 1, 1957• Bonds
numbered 1 to 90, inclusive shall bear interest at the rate of 4% per annum; Bonds numbered
91 to 150, inclusive- shall bear interest at the rate of 3% per annum and bonds numbered
151 to 300, inclusive shall bear interest at the rate of 31,1% per annum, payable March 1, 19580
and semiannually thereafter on the first days of September and March of each year, said interest
to be evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become due
as follows:

Section 2. Sjaid bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be attested by the
signature of the City Clerk and the corporate seal of the City shall be affixed thereto and
each of said bondsl,shall have interest coupons attached, which coupons shall be in the form
required by law and each thereof shall bear the printed or lithographed facsimile, signature
of the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City and said bonds and interest coupons shall be
registered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the State Auditor, as
required by law.
Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series 5-175 and shall be in the form and
contain recitals substantially as follows, to -wit:

Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to prepare
and execute the b nds hereinbefore described and when said bonds are duly exdcuted and

Section 5. full ftit*, credit and resources of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be
