ORDINANCE NUMBER 6158

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum doing business as
McCollum Construct on Company for the construction of a Pumping Station in the City of Salinay
Kansas, and providing for Ae issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending
the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the
McCollum Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to
the Board of Commissioners on June 25, 1957, which is hereby found to be the lowest and
best bid for such i1ork, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City
to said contractor land signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 2, 1957, for
the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Construction of a pumping station for the purpose of
pumping and diverting the sewage of Main Sewer "E"
and 'extensions thereof into a Sanitary Sewer Force
Maithe existing sewer located at the intersection
of h and Second Streets in order to conduct the
sewage of Main Sewer "E" to a point of outlet at the
Sewage Treatment Plant.
at and for the unitlprice for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirlmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as"
shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which
estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans'
and specifications itherefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City
Clerk and in accordance with t he proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said
contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. Tit temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued
from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total;
amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $110,000.00 for such work, such notes to bear
interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later that December 1, 195$,
and to be issued inllsuch amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment Of the
cost of such work be required, such notes to,be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in Lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
