6139 Utility ImprovementsCON SOLIDA'TED-SALLNA 7 C 1 ORDINANCE DUMBER 6139 (Published in The Salina Journal hl � , 1957) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum doing business as McCollum Construction Company for the construction of a certain main sanitary sewer and lateral sanitary sewers and pumping station in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Main Sanitary Sewer District "AE" and Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 357, 358, 359 and 360 and Pumping Station, and providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the McCollum Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 23, 1957, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on April 30, 1957, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: A ten inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Highland Avenue; thence west along the center line of easement at the south line of Lot 17, Block 1, Gebhart Manor Addition and vontinuing west across Broadway Boulevard 457.0 feet where a manhole will be constructed; thence north along a line 5 feet east of the west right-of-way line of said Broadway Boulevard 1020.0 feet where a manhole will be built; thence north 70.0 feet with a 6 inch cast iron pressure lime where a pumping station will be installed; thence continuing north 5 feet east of west line of Broadway Boulevard with a 10 inch clay pipe sewer 1500.0 feet to a point 12.0 feet east of the west line of Hageman Avenue where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Main "AE". An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole at a point 5.0 feet mouth of the center line of Willis Avenue and 5.0 feet east of the west line of Broadway Boulevard; thence northwesterly following a line which is 5.0 feet east of the west line of Broadway to a manhole which is 5.0 feet south of the center line of Smith Avenue; thence west along a line 5.0 feet south of the center line of Smith Avenue 1075.0 feet where a ;manhole will be built which will be terminus of lateral 357• AN 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 5.0 feet east of the west line of Broadway Boulevard and 5.0 feet south of the center line of Willis Avenue; thence west 5.0 feet mouth of the center line of Willis Avenue 1250.0 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 358. An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 12.0 feet east of the west line of Hageman Avenue and 5.0 feet south of the center line of Maple Avenue; thence west along a line 5.0 feet south of the center line of Maple avenue 1250.0 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 359 An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is 12.0 feet east of the west line of Hageman Avenue and 5.0 feet south of the center line of Garden Avenue; thence west along a line 5.0 feet north of the center line of Garden Avenue 1250.0 feet where a manhole will be built which will be terminus of Lateral 360. Construct a pumping station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of such Sanitary Sewers Numbered 357, 358, 359, and 360 and extensions thereof into the existing sewer located at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Wayne Avenue in order to conduct the sewage of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 357, 358, 359, and 360 to a point of outlet. CONSOLIDATED -SAL:Y A 1 D D at and for the unit price for said wor1Q contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as', shown by the sworn obti.mate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk vbtb estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said Improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposals of said contractor and under the terms, of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, to total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $61,154.30 for such work, such notes to bear intertest at not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1958, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost, of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
