A RESOLUTION NAMING THE OAKDALE PARK STAGE "THE ERIC STEIN
STAGE."
WHEREAS, a request was made at the July 20, 2005 Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
meeting to name the stage in Oakdale Park in honor of Eric Stein; and
WHEREAS, Eric Stein has provided dedicated and enduring services to Salina and the
community for 44 years; and
WHEREAS, in 1954, Eric Stein formed the Salina String Quartet, which later became the
Salina Civic Orchestra and is now known as the Salina Symphony; and
WHEREAS, Eric Stein conducted the Salina Municipal Band for 44 years and retired in
2002. SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Oakdale Park stage is hereby named "The Eric Stein Stage."
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor on this 3rd day of
October, 2005.
