6232 Street ImprovementsORDINANCE NUMBER 6232 (Published in The Salina Journal f%%;T / , 1958) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company for the construction of certain curing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor* as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 29, 1958, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 6, 1958, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Carlton Place thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of cur to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west side of Page Avenue to the west side of Ingman Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 1890 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Claremont Drive (thirty-one (31) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock baso, from the south line of Greeley Avenue to the south line or Raskin Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 1943 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Edgehill Road (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Knollcrest Drive to the east line of Seitz Drive, as provided for by Resolution Number 1882 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Fairdale Road (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of Edgehill Road to the south line of Melrose bane, as provided for by Resolution Number 1899 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Fairdale Road with concrete (thirty-three (33) feet wide from bac7 of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Melrose Lane to the south line of Overhill Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 1900 and Ordinance Number 6221. Paving and grading of Franklin Street (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west line of Hancock Street to the east line of Merrill Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1872 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Hilldale Road (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back ofcurb to back of curb) with reinforced concrete from the north line of Malrose bane to the north line of Lot 6, Block 4, Country Club i%ights Addition Number 3, as provided for by Resolution Number 1885 and Ordinance Number 6221. 1 LI 1 Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ian ,Road (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north side of Carlton Place to the north side of Lot 2, Block 7, Ingermanson Heights Addition, City of Salina, Kansas, as provided for by Resolution Number 1891 and Ordinance Nunber 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Knollcrest Drive (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Marymount Road to the west line of Melrose Lane, as provided for by Resolution Number 1880 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Meadow Lane (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with concrete from the east line of Fairdale Road to the west line of Hilldarte Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 1886 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Melrose Lane (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of Knollcrest Drive to the east line of Seitz Drive, as provided for by Resolution Number 1881 and Ordinance Number 6221. Resurfacing of Ninth Street with two (2) inch hot mixed asphaltic concrete from the south line of North Street to the south line of Pacific Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1916 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of page Avenue (thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to' back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Willis Avenue to the south line of Carlton Place, as provided for by Resolution Number 1892 and Ordinance Number 6221. Paving and grading of Roach Street (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Claflin Avenue to the north line of Cloud Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1910 and Ordinance Number 6221. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ruskin Road (thirty-one (31) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Claremont Drive to the west line of Marymount Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 1944 and Ordinance Number 6221. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated oost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. 1 1 Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $228,160.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1959, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city gaper.
