6230 Manor Gage BridgeAN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with B and D Construction Company for the construction of a bridge in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as the Mentor Gage Road Bridge, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the B and D Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 22, 1958, in the amount of$ 73,350.00 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on April 29, 1958, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, construction equipment, materials and performing all operations required to construct the Mentor Gage Road Bridge including linear ditching i and grading, construction of a shoofly and temporary culverts, compacting and grading embankment materials hauled by others and all other work not shown or specified but essential to the proper completion of the project, including precautionary work necessary for the protection of workmen, general public and new and existing structures. All work shall be completed, ready for traffic and use, in accordance with the detailed drawings and specifications. The site of the work is located in Saline County, Sections 29 and 30, Township 14 South, Range 2 West approximately 1 mile south of Cloud Street of the City of Salina, Kansas, and 2 miles east of U. S. Highway 81, the exact location being as hhown on the approach plan and profile sheet of the drawings. The drawings governing and controlling the work and to which reference is made throughout these specifications, consist of 11 sheets, identified under Project Number 155-86 C, titled and indexed as follows: j 1. Title and Index 2. Approach Plan and profile 3. Typical Sections and guard fence details 4. Construction Layout 5. Abutment details 6. Superstructure details 7. Superstructure details 8. Pier Details and Bending Diagrams 9. Approach Cross Sections 10. Approach Cross Sections 11. Approach Cross Sections at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the Wilson Engineering; Company on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the Wilson Engineering Company on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That this ordinance shall bake effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
