AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pair the cost of the
construction of certain sidewalks in the parking abutting the following property to wit:
West parking of Second Street in said city and abutting Lot 4, Block 2, Van Trines Addition;
South parking of Prescott Avenue in said city and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 2,
Van Trines Addition; East Parking of Third Street in said city and abutting Lot 1, Block 2,
Van Trines Addition; East parking of Quincy Street in said city and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, and 6, in Block 1, and Lots 1 and 18 in Block 3, and Lots 1 and 18 in Block 5 and
Lots 1 and 18 in Block 7, and Lots 1 and 18 in Block 9, all in Southern View Addition, City
of Salina, Saline County, Kansas; East parking of Norton Street in said city and abutting
Lots 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block 2 and Lots 1 and 2, Block 4, and Lots 1 and 2, Block 6, and
Lots 1 and 18 in Block 8 and Lots 1 and 18 in Block 10, all in Southern View Addition; West
parking of Norton Street in said city and abutting Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 in Block 1,
and Lots 9 and 10 in Block 3, and Lots 9 and 10 in Block 5, and Lots 9 and 10 in Block 7,
and Lots 9 and 10 in Block 9 all in Southern View Addition; North parking in M%X Avenue in
said city and abutting Lots 6, 7, and 8 in Block 2 Southern View Addition; South parking
of Max Avenue in said city and abutting lots 1, 3, and 5 in Block 4 Southern View Addition;
North parking of Carl Avenue in saidcity and abutting Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,
18 in Block 5, and Lots 2, 4, and 6 in Block 6 Southern View Addition; South parking of
Carl Avenue in said city and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Block 7 and
Lots 1, 2, 31 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Block 8 in Southern View Addition; West parking of
Roach Street in said city and abutting Lots 9 and 10 in Block 8 and Lots 9 and 10 in Block
10 in Southern View Addition; north parkipg of Leslie Avenue in said city and abutting lots
10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in Block 9 and Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,
and 18 in Block 10 all in Southern View Addition; North parking of Albert Avenue in said city
and abutting Lots 19, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in Block 7 and Lots 10, 11, 12, 13,
14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in Block 8, all in Southern View Addition; South parking of Albert
Avenue in said city and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Block 9 and Lots 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Block 10 all in Southern View Addition; West parking of Norton
Street in said city and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14
in Block 2 all in South Field Addition; East parking of Norton Street in said city and
abutting Lots 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 in Block 3 all
in South Field Addition.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, have by Resolution
Number 1806, caused to be notified, the owners of the property hereinafter described to
cause their respective portion of said sidewalks to be construct6d at their own expense and
have fulfilled all conditions precedent to the construction of said sidewalks

WHEREAS, the ownere of the property hereinafter described did not within 30 days as required
by Resolution Number 1806, cause said sidewalks to be constructed, and the city caused
said sidewalks to be constructed pursuant to Chapter 12, article 18, General Statutes of
Kansas, 1949, and the cost thereof has been ascertained, SO NOW, 'THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against the lots
hereinafter described an assessment for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing said
sidewalks, taxable against the following described lots in the amount set opposite taid lots.

Section 2. That the owner or owners of the property above described shall have thirty
(30) days after the publication of this ordinance within which to make full payment.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to mail a notice not less than fLfteen
days prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owner of the property as shown on the
records of the Office of the Register of Deeds.
Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment made in Section 1 of this ordinance
is not made within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, the City Clerk is

hereby directed and authorized to certify said assessment to the County Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas, to be placed on the tax roll for collection in four installments starting

with the year 1958, and subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other
taxes.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
publication once in the official city paper.
