6187 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -S ALYNA 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 6187 (Published in The Salina Journal L%C iC bL, r-' � , 1957 ) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of CommissLoners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Sbetion 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 24, 1957, which is hereby found to be the' lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awaredd by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on October 1, 1957,1 for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving and grading of Indiana Street with concrete (twenty-six (26) feet wide from toe of existing curb to toe of existing curb) from the north line of Gypsum Avenue to the south line of Stapler Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1858 and Ordinance Number 6180. Paving and grading of Norton Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) ftbm the north line of Jewell Avenue to the south line of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1852 and Ordinance Number 6180. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Second Street with concrete from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Bond Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1866 and Ordinance Number 6180. Paving and grading of Sherman Street with concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe to toe of existing curb) from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Franklin Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1857 and Ordinance Number 6180. Paving and grading of Tenth Street with Concrete (twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Jewell Avenue to the north line of Kirwin Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1854 and Ordinance Number 6180. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, he and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans; and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATEDD-S 'ILL INA 1 Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by lav;fes total amount thereof not to exceed to amount of $89,745.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later thah December 1, 1958, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. i Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official City paper.
