6184 Sidewalk Improvements1: Fj 1 CONSOLIDATED-JAL:NA ORDINANCE NUMBER 6184 (Published in The Salina Journal 5 Q-s�� !�� - r' L, , 1957 ) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Oscar M. Wilbur Construction Company for the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Engineering Job Number 364, an d providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of Oscar M. Wilbur Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 10, 1957, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioner I of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on September i 17, 1957, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit; North parking of Republic Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 9, 10, 19 and 20, Block 1, in Replat of Blocks 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Hageman Park Addition, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, The South parking of Ellsworth Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 100 110 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 in Block 2, Claflin Addition to the Grounds of K. W. U. The North parking of Jewell Avenue in said City and abutting lots 1, 2, and 5, Block 2, Claflin Addition to the grounds of K. W. U. West parking of Ohio Street in said City and abutting Lots 9 and 10 in Block 2, Claflin Addition to the Qrounds of K. W, U. The South parking of Jewell Avenue in said City and abutting lots 12 and 19, Blocq 2, B*iley Heights Addition. The North parking of Kirwin Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 2, 3, 4, 51 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Block 2, Bailey Heights Addition. The West parking of Ohio Street in said City and abutting Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12 in Block 2, Bailey Heights Addition. The North parking of Ellsworth Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 16, 18, and 20 and 15 feet of vacated alley (Ordinance Number 1266) on Ellsworth Avenue Addition to Grounds of K. W. U. , City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. Concrete Sidewalk in the East parking of Bej#mrt Street City of Salina, Kansas, abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 81 91 10, Block 5, Kraft Manor Addition Number 2, and Concrete Sidewalk in the West parking of Gebhart Street, City of Salina, Kansas, abutting Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, Block 4, Kraft Manor Addition Number 2 The East parking of Lewis Street in said City and abutting Lots 19 and 2, Block 2, Bailey Heights Addition CONSOLIDATED -SAL CNA Fj 1 1 at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and thesame is hereby: ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimated of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby Deferred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3_ That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $6,932.75, for such work, I such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than June 1, 1958 and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor' and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance s))all take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
