RESOLUTION NUMBER 90-4213
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING AND ORDERING A PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE ADVISABILITY OF SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS AND
GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
That a public hearing shall be held by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improvements:
Property line sidewalk along the east side of OHIO STREET
from Martin Avenue to Ellsworth Avenue;
Curb line sidewalk along the the south side of REPUBLIC
AVENUE from Broadway Boulevard to Windsor Drive;
Property line sidewalk along the south side of REPUBLIC
AVENUE from Windsor Drive to Sunset Park;
Property line sidewalk along the east side of BROADWAY
BOULEVARD from Armory Road to Crawford Street;
Curb line sidewalk along the south side of CLOUD STREET
from the Missouri Pacific railroad tracks to Roberts Avenue;

on the 6th day of August, 1990, at 4:00 p.m., in the City Commission Meeting
Room, City -County Building, as provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18.
The City Clerk shall publish the following notice of such hearing in
the official city newspaper in the manner provided by law.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, will meet for the purpose of holding a public hearing as
provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18, in the City Commission Meeting Room,
City -County Building, on the 6th day of August, 1990, at 4:00 p.m. to consider
the advisability of the following improvements:

B-2, C-1 , C-2, D-1 , D-2, E-1 , E-2, F-1 , F-2, G-1 , G-2,
H-1, H-2, 1-1, 1-2, J-1, J-2; and except that part of said
Block 2, described as follows: Beginning at the southeast
corner of said Block 2, thence West 339.26 feet along the
south line of said Block 2; thence North 193.00 feet along
the west line of said Block 2; thence east 240.00 feet along
the centerline of the designated utility easement; thence

The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $88,515.00.
The apportionment of cost between the Improvement District and the
City -at -large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to private property in the amount of
$17,012.92.
2. Costs chargeable to the City -at -large in the amount of
$71,502.08.
The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special tax
upon the property included within the benefit district concurrent with the
general property taxes and shall be payable in Four (4) equal annual
installments.
The method of assessment shall be based on the square footage of the
sidewalk actually constructed.
The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of
Commissioners shall have made findings by Resolution as to the advisability of
the improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of the
cost between the improvement district and the City -at -large, All as finally
determined by the Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the
improvement district may be less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed to
be assessed as stated in this notice without giving notice and holding a new
hearing on the improvement. All persons desiring to be heard with reference to
the proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.
