6306 Construct Channel BridgeAIS ORDIUNC& ratifying and confirming a contract with King Construction Company for the
construction of a bridge in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as the Dry
Creek Diversion Channel Bridge, and providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay
the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the
King Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the
Board of Commissioners on February 17, 1959, in the amount of $45,540.00 which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board
of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its
Mayor on February 24, 1959, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City
Of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, construction
equipment, materials, and performing all operations required
to construct the channel crossing, including construction of
a shoofly detour and the Dry Creek Diversion Channel Bridge,
and all other work not shown or specified byit essential to the proper
completion of the project, including precautionary work necessary Car
the protection of workmen, general public and new and existing structures.
All work shall be completed, ready for traffic and use, in accordance
with the detailed drawings and specifications.
The site of the work is located in Saline County, the exact location
being shown on the drawings.
The drawings governing and controlling the work, and to which
reference is made through these specifications, consist of 8 sheets,
identified under Project No. 155 86D titled and indexed as follows:
1. Title and Index
2. Approach Plan and Profile
3. Construction Layout
4. Abutment Details
5. Superstructure Details
6. Superstructure Details
7. Pier Details
8. Reinforcement Details
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimate of the Wilson Engineering Company on file in the office of
the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the Wilson Engineering Company on file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under
the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance.

Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $45,540.00 for such work, such notes
to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than April
1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the
payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor
and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued
in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
