90-4241 Personnel InsuranceKuhnCoK Printing — Saiine, Kensas (Published in The Salina Journal October , 1990) RESOLUTION NUMBER 90-4241 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SALINA, AS A PARTICIPATING EMPLOYER IN THE KANSAS PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE KANSAS POLICE AND FIRE RETIREMENT SYSTEM, TO MAKE APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OPTIONAL GROUP LIFE INSURANCE. WHEREAS, the City of Salina is a "participating employer' as described by K.S.A. 74-4802(24), and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas that the City of Salina, Kansas, a participating employer in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System and Kansas Police and Fire Retirement System, do hereby make application to participate in the Optional Group Life Insurance as provided by K.S.A. 74-4927, SO NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the City of Salina, Kansas shall and hereby make application to provide for the inclusion of all its eligible employees under the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System and Kansas Police and Fire Retirement System Optional Group Insurance Program as provided by K.S.A. 74-4927, effective January 1, 1991. Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption once in the official city newspaper. Section 3, If within sixty (60) days after the publication of this .resolution a petition signed by electors equal to ten percent (10%) of the number who voted at the last regular City election, shall be filed with the City Clerk, demanding that such resolution be submitted to a vote of the electors, it shall not take effect until submitted to a referendum and approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon.
