6282 Street ImprovementsOaDINANCB Numm 6282 (Published in The Salina Journal 12t , / , 1958 ) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the Brun and Brown Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINM by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and Brown Construction Company, hereinafter Setsieft d to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on October 28, 1958, which is hereby ford to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded b1 the Beard of Commissi©ner& of the City of Salina to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 4, 1958, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Belmont Bouleyast with concrete, two slabs each twenty (20) feet wide from toe of slab to back of curb) from the north line of Wayne Avenue to the vast line of Roach Street, as provided for by Resolution Dumber 2442 and Ordinance Number 6276. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Cloud Street (Thirty three (33) feet wide from back of curb to ba k of curb) with concrete, from the east line of Roach Street to the east line of Lewis Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2034 and Ordinance Number 6276. Paving and grading of Cloud Street with concrete (Thirty- seven (37) feet wide from s o curb to back of curb) from the east line of Quincy Street to the west line of Roach Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2026 and Ordinance Number 6276. Section 2. Said improvements aba" be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said i contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be I issued from hart to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $230,163.00 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature notlater than December 1, 1959, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost Of such notes being issued to said eontuaetor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
