6281 Street ImprovementsAN 0>NlINANCZ ratifying and confirming a contract with the Brown and Brown Construction Company for the destruction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. U IT OMDAIM by the Board of Caemissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and Brown Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Hoard of Commissioners on October 28, 1930, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners Of the City of Salina to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 4, 1958, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving and grading of Dover Drive (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to of gutter) with two (2 ) inch hot asphalt six over a six (6) inch crushed rock bane, from the east line of Vassar Drive to the north line of Windsor Drive, as provided for by Resolution Number 2075 and Ordinance Number 6275. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Edward Street (Thirty-three {33) feet wide from back of curb to bac of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt six over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Wayne Avenue to the north line of Belmont Boulevard, as provided for by Resolution Number 2035 and Ordinance Number 6275. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Bagesan Street (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt six over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Cloud Street to the east line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided for by Resolution Number 2048 and Ordinance Number 6275. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Wesley Street (Thirty-three (33 feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2� inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Wayne Avenue to the south line of Norton Street, as provided for by Resolution Dumber 2037, and Ordinance Number 6275. paving and grading of Pershing Street (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of Jewell Avenue to the south line of Ellsverhk Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2071 and Ordinance Number 6275. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same are hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and mads a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $0,275.501 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1959, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
