AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE
CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
ELECTORS OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION TO ISSUE THE GENERAL OBLIGATION
BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE AA•9OUNT OF X125,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ERECTING BUILDINGS AND IMPROVING THE PUBLIC PARK SYSTEM OF THE CITY
OF SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, it is expedient, and the service and welfare
can be advanced by erecting buildings and improving the public park
system of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
WHEREAS, the cost of erecting buildings and improving the public
park system of the City of Salina, Kansas, will riot exceed the
estimated amount of $_125,000.00, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to issue the general obligation bonds
of said city to pay the cost of the erection of said buildings and
improvements; and
NHEREAS, it is necessary before said bonds i-aay be legally issued
to submit the proposition, of issuing the same for such purposes to
the qualified electors of said City at an election to be held within
thirty (30) days from the date of the adoption and publication of
this ordinance; and
and WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, is a city of the first class;
WHEREAS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated
will not create a debt in excess of the Limit now provided by law, and
SO NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the preambles of this ordinance are hereby incor-
porated herein and that an election is hereby called and ordered to be
held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on Tuesday, November q , 1958,
between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 7:00 o'clock P.M. of said
day, at the time of the regular general election, and within thirty
(30) days after the adoption and publication of this ordinance accord-
ing to law, to submit to the qualified electors of the said city the
proposition of issuing general obligation bonds of said city in the
amount of $125,000.00 to pay the cost of erecting buildings and improv-
ing the public park system of the City of Salina, Kansas; that such
election shall be held at the usual places of holding elections, to -wit:

Said election shall be conducted by the officers and persons provided
by law for holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that
the Mayor and at least two additional members of the Board of Cormuis-
sioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall and they are hereby
ordered and directed to publish notice of said election in the manner
and form directed and required by Section 10-120 General Statutes of
Kansas, 1949.
Section 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall
be in substantially the following form:

Shall the following be adopted?
Shall the City of Salina, Kansas, issue its general obligation
bonds in the alliount of X125,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost
of erecting buildings, and improving the public park system of the
City of Salina, Kansas.
To vote in favor of the bonds rake a cross (X) mask in the
square after the word "YES".
To vote against the bonds make a cross (X) i�iark in the square
after the word "NO".
