6263 Street Improvements1 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 6263 (Published in The Salina journal U���,�' , 1958) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the Salina Asphalt Inc. Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of the Salina Asphalt Inc. Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on August 12, 1958, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Boasd of Commissioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on August 19, 1958, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving and grading of Beatrice Street (Twenty- eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of Martin Street to the south line of Republic Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1996 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading Beach Street (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Cloud Street to the north line of Winona Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2010 and Ordinance Number 6256. Paving and grading of Cedar Street (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to ce of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west line of College Avenue to the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad, as provided for by Resolution Number 1961 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading Fourth Street (Thirty-one (31) feet wide from back of`cur�o acy of curb) with two (2) inch hot apphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Minneapolis Avenue to the north line of Kirwin Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2016 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Grand Avenue (Thirty-seven (37) feet wide from back of curb to bac of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west line of Broadway Boulevard to the east line of Barney Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2022 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Sarsh Avenue (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to ac of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east of qq��eelfth Street ar provided for by Resolution Number 1998 -and Ordinance Number b25b. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Roach Street (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of cur t�Ea- of curb with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of Manor Road to the south line of Crawford Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1963 and Ordinance number 6256. Paving and grading of Stack Avenue (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Delaware Avenue to the east line of Missouri Avenue as provided for by Resolution Number 2006 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, and grading of Stack Avenue from the west line of First Alley east of Delaware Avenue to the east line of Missouri Ave nue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1993 and Ordinance Number 6256. Paving and grading of Vassar Drive (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Windsor Drive, as provided for by Resolution Number 2009 and Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Wa nerve _Avenue (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Roach Street to the west line of Quincy Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 1962 and Ordinance Number 6256. Paving and Grading of Qui,ngy Street (Twenty-eight (28) j feet wide from toe of meter to��oe of gutter) with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Albert Avenue to the south line of Leslie Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1937 add Ordinance Number 6256. Curbing, guttering, and grading of the West side of Quincy Street, from the center line of Leslie Avenue tot cen er line of Albert Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 1938 and Ordinance Number 6256. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are heriby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and Wrm as required by law, I the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $99,546.15 for such work, such notes to _-OY S_^,LMATED-S:.c 3 r: A bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1959, and to be issued in such amounts and at auch times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeewd, and cnacelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
