AN OFQUOCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Baum Brothers Construction Company for
the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated
as Zagtneering Job 372, and providing for the issuance of Temporary notes to pay the cost
thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAI= by the Board of Co omissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the Proposal of
Saum Brothers Construction C®mpany, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor* as submitted
to the Board of Commissioners on July 8, 1958, which is hereby found to be the lowest and
best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Comissioners of said City
j to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 15, 1958, for the

construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
South parking of Ralph Avenue between Quincy
Street and Dorton Street abutting Lots 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6,.7, 8, 9, Block 5, Southern View Addition,

City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Russell Street from Norton Street
to Roach Street abutting Lots 61, 63, 65, 67, 69,
71, 73, 75, 77, 79, on Russell Street in the Additbon
to the Grounds of Kansas Wableyan University, City
of Salina, Saline County, Kansas,
East Parking of Norton Street between Russell
Avenue and Cloud Street abutting Lots 61-62 on
Norton Street in the Addition to the Grounds of
Kansas Wesleyan University, City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas.
North parking of Cloud Street between Norton Street
and Roach Street abutting Lots 62, 64, 66, 68, 70,
72, 74, 76, 78, 8o on Cloud Street in the Addition
to the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University, City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
West parking of Roach Street between Cloud -Street
and Russell Avenue abutting Lots 79-80 on Roach Street
in the Addition to the grounds of Kansas Wesleyan university.

and Morrison Avenue abutting the south 18 feet of Lot
12 and the Borth 25 feet of Iat 13, Block "A* Morrison

West perking of Maple Street from Bechtold Avenue to
the south line of Lot 30 Block 2 Cloud Addition,
abutting Lots 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 19, Block 2,
Cloud Addition, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Cloud Avenue starting at a point on the
west property line of Lot 8, Block 3, Talley Addition to
the west line of Beach Street; thence in the West parking
of Beach Street to the North line of Winona Street; thence
in the North parking of Winona Street to the west property
line of Lot 12, Block 3 Talley Addition in said City and
abutting Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, and 12 to 19 inclusive in
Block 3, Talley Addition to the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas.
South parking of Cloud Street from the east line of
Beach Street to the west line of Dover Drive; thence
in the west parking of Dover Drive to the east line
of Winona Street; Thence in the north parking of Winona
Street to the east line of Beach Street; thence in the
Bast parking of Beach Street to the south line of Cloud
Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 1 to 11 ioklnsive
in Block 2, Talley Addition to the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas,
South parking of Minneapolis Avenue from the west line of
Roach Street to the east line of Lewis Arset in said
City and abutting Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, in
Claflin Addition to the Grounds of Kansas Waslayan University
to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown the sworn estimates of the Cit neer on file in the office of the Cit Clerk

which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk and &a accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and Wade a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as require& by lm,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of *11.,384.53, for such work, such notes
to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to =bum not later than December
1, 1959, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as moi the money for the payment,
of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be
redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
