A RESOLUTION APPOINTING DON HEATH TO SERVE THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF THE LATE COMMISSIONER LARRY MATHEWS.
WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on January 7, 2002, the Board of City
Commissioners fulfilled its statutory duty to elect an eligible person to serve the unexpired term of
the late Commissioner Larry Mathews; and
WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners unanimously elected former City
Commissioner Don Heath to fill the vacancy resulting from the death of Commissioner Mathews,
SO NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Don Heath is appointed as a member of the Board of City Commissioners
to serve the unexpired term of the late Commissioner Larry Mathews.
Section 2. The City Clerk is authorized to administer the oath of office to Don
Heath who, upon his taking the oath of office, shall assume his seat as a member of the Board of
City Commissioners.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 14`h day of
January, 2002.
