A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF OAKDALE
PARK FOR THE ANNUAL SMOKY HILL RIVER FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the Smoky Hill River Festival annually provides a unique
cultural and artistic experience for the citizens of Salina as well as visitors from
throughout the United States, and
WHEREAS, Oakdale Park provides the optimal setting for such a
festival, and
WHEREAS, all permanent public facilities available in Oakdale Park are
also available to citizens of Salina at alternative public facilities, SO NOW,
THEREFORE
I Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. The Salina Arts and Humanities Commission is hereby
authorized to make exclusive use of Oakdale Park for the annual Smoky Hill
River Festival for up to 4 consecutive days each calendar year. The exact dates
of the festival for any particular year shall be determined by the Salina Arts
and Humanities Commission, subject to approval by the City Manager.
Section 2. This authorization shall remain in effect from year to year,
subject to cancellation at any time by the Governing Body.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
