A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE
CITY CLERK TO ATTEST AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS, AND JIM SWEDLUND TO PROVIDE APPRAISAL AND ACQUISITION
SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETEEN THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($19,760).

WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, has scheduled improvements
for the Schilling/I-135 Interchange and the West North Street Bridge; and
WHEREAS, twenty-eight (28) tracts of land abutting Schilling Road
require acquisition of easement and/or right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, five (5) tracts of land abutting North Street require
acquisition of easement and/or right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, these tracts of land will require appraisals and
negotiation of the cost of easements and/or right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, utilizing an experienced third party to provide these
services is beneficial to the City of Salina, Kansas; SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Salina are
hereby authorized to execute an agreement between the City of Salina, Kansas,
and Jim Swedlund to provide appraisal and acquisition services on the
Schilling/ I -135 Interchange and the West North Street Bridge Projects .
Compensation for the services is based on a fixed amount ($490) per tract for II''
appraisal and a varied amount for negotiation based on the actual time allotted.
Section 2. That the total cost of the appraisal and acquisition
services shall not exceed nineteen thousand seven hundred sixty dollars
($19,760). These costs will be shared by the City, County and Salina Airport
Authority pursuant to the previous project agreements.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor
this 4th day of November, 1991.
