AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of
constructing certain sidewalks in the parking abutting the following property, to -wit:
South parking of Ralph Avenue between Quincy Street and Norton
Street abutting Lots 1, 2, 31 4, 5) 6, 7, 8, 9, Block 5,
Southern View Addition, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Russell Street from Norton Street to Roach
Street abutting Lots 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75, 77, 79
on Russell Street in Addition to the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan
University, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
East parking of Norton Street between Russell Avenue and Cloud
Street abutting Lots 61- 62, on Norton Street in Addition
to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University, City of Salina,
Saline County, KatsDas.
North Parking of Cloud Street between Norton Street and Roach
Street abutting Lots 62, 64, 66, 68, 70, 72, 74, 762 78, 80,

of Lot 30, Block 2, Cloud Addition, abutting lots 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and
19, Block 2 Cloud Addition, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Cloud Avenue starting at a point on the west
property line of Lot 81 Block 3, Talley Addition to the West line of
Beach Street; thence in the west parking of Beach Street to the north
line of Winona Street; thence in the North parking of Winona Street
to the west property line of Lot 12, Block 3, Talley Addition in said
City and abutting Lots 1 to 8 inclusive, and 12 to 19 inclusive in
Block 3, Talley Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Cloud Street from the east line of Beach Street to
the west line of Dover Drive; thence in the west parking of Dover
Drive to the east line of Winona Street; thence in the north parking of
Winona Street to the east line of Beach Street; thence in the east parking
of Beach Street to the south line of Cloud Avenue in said City and abutting
lots 1 to 11 inclusive in Block 2, Talley Addition to the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas.
South parking of Minneapolis Avenue from the west line of Roach Street
to the east line of Lewis Street in said City and abutting Lots 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, in Claflin Addition to the Grounds of K. W. U.
to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
SAS, the Board of Commissioners have, by Resolution Numbers 1889, 1909, 1949, 2005, ca
to be notified, the owners of the property hereinafter described to cause their respective
p®rtion of said sidewalks to be constructed at their own expense and have fulfilled all
conditions precedent to the construction of said sidewalks.
WHEREAS, the owners of the property hereinafter described did not within 30 days as required
by Resolution Numbers 1889, 1909, 1949, 2005, cause said sidewalks to be constructed and the
City caused said sidewalks to be constructed pursuant to Chapter 12, Article 18, General
Statutes of Kansas, 1949, and the cost thereof has been ascertained, SO NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:

Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against the lots
hereinafter described an assessment for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing said

Section 2. That the owner at owners of the property above described shall have thirty
(30) days after the publication of this ordinance within which to make full payment.
Section 3. That the City Clerk Is directed to mail a notice not less than fifteen days

prior to the end of the thirty (30) days to the owner of the property as shown on the records)
of the Office of the Register of Deeds.
Section 4. That if full payment of the assessment made in Section 1 of this ordinance is
i
not made within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, the City Clerk is herebyf
directed and authorized to certify said assessments to the County Clerk of Saline County,
Kansas, to be placed on the tax roll for collection, in four installments, starting with the
I
year 1959, and subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
adoption and
op publication once in the official city paper.
