6332 Construct Channel Crossing1
AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with King Construction Company for the
construction of Channel Crossings - Phase II in the City of Salina, Kansas; heretofore designated
as Channel Crossings - Phase II, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes topay
the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, of the proposalof the proposal of
the King Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to
the Board of Commissioners on May 191 1959, in the amount of $47,290.00 which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board
of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its
Mayor on May 26, 1959, for the construction of certainublic improvements mprovements in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Work to be done 40n9i8ta of furnishing all labor, construction
equipment, materials, and performing all operations required to
construct Channel Crossings - Phase II, including State Street
Culvert, North Street Culvert, Muir Crossing of Mulberry Creek
Channel, and all other work not shown or specified but essential
to the proper completion of the project, including precautionary
work necessary for the protection of workmen, general public and
new and existing structures. All work shall be completed, ready
for traffic and use, in accordance with the detailed drawings
and specifications.
The sites of the work are located in Saline County, the exact
locations being as shown on the drawings.
The drawings governing and controlling the work, and to which
reference is made throughout these specifications, consist of
6 sheets, identified under JRrojeet File No. 155-86G, titled
and indexed as follows:

2. North Street & State Street Culverts - Approach Plans and Profile

4. State Street Culvert
5. North Street & State Street Culverts - Reinforcement Details
6. Muir Crossing of MAlberry Creek Channel
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal,which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements

MU shown by the sworn estimate of the Wilson Engineering Company on file in the office of the
City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the Wilson Engineering Company on file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under
the terms of said contract, all of *hich are hereby referred to and made a

Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the Cit Cle k b

issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $47,290.00 for such work, such notes
to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than April
1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment
of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be
redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect add be in full force from and after
its publication once in the official city paper.
