6465 Downtown ParkingI� ORDINANCE NTMER 6li6q (Published in The Salina Journal 11 Da�4 , 1960) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with John Rohrer Contracting Company for the construction of Off -Street Parking Project 100, as designated and authorised by Resolution Number 2292, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the John Rohrer Contracting Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 26, 1960, in the amount of $190,661.60 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Cm issioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on August 2, 1960, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. The work to be performed consists of the construction of the following off-street surfaced parking lots: Lot 3A South 100 Block, Seventh to Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas Lot SA North 100 Block, Fifth Street, Salina, Kansas Lot 7 South 200 Block, Fifth Street, Salina, Kansas Lot 8 North 100 Block, Seventh to Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas Lot 10 South 200 Block, Seventh Street, Salina, Kansas and the following pedestrian archades: Open Arcade - South 100 Block, Seventh Street to Alley (Lot 3A) Covered Asdads- North 100 Block, Seventh Street to Santa Fe (Lot and the following restrooms: Restrooms in Lot 8 Arcade near Santa Fe Restrooms in Lot 7 The parking lots are to be surfaced with 6" P. C. concrete pavement. The parking Lot lighting is to be furnished by others. The Curbs, meter posts, signs, and other items of work included in the Plans and the Specifications are to be constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents. The covered arcades are generally 10` wide by 10' high pedestrian passageways. The walls are of concrete Block, the ceilings of Metal framing and covered on the underside with accoustical plaster ceiling and on the upper side with concrete and the floors are of poured concrete. The lighting of the arcades is a part of the contract. All signs, lighted and others, are to be furnished by the Contractor. All contract work shall be ad described in the Contract Documents. 2. The sites of the work are located within the City Limits of Salina, Kansas, exact locations being as indicated on the drawings. 3. Parking Lot Restroom Details for Lot 7 at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and Stade a part of this ordinance, be and the same are hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said imprevesmOs as eWu by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City latineer on file in the office of City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That tes"rary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $190,661.60 for such work, such notes to bear interest at hot to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effedt and be in full force from and after its publication sane in the official city paper.
