6445 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATYD-SALINA �J 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 615 (Published in The Salina Journal �1960) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Construction Industries. for the construction of Ash Street and Elm Street Smoky Hill River Crossings as designated and authorised by Resolution Numbers 2285 and 2286, and providing for the issuance of tempor ry notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, of the proposal of the RV Construction Industries, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 10, 1960, in the amount of $93,498.75 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 17, 1960, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. Work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, construction equipment, materials and performing all operations required to egnstruct-Ash Street and Elm Street Smoky Hill River Crossings, including dewatering of the construction sites, construction of reinforced concrete boxes, compacted embankments, concrete pavement, walks, inlets and manholes, installation of drainage pipes, cast iron water line, chain link fencing and stone riprap, removal of existing bridges and other obstructions interfering with new construction, preparation of cleanup of the site, including disposal of excess materials and removal of unused items and waste, together with all miscellaneous and incidental work required to complete each crossing, ready for use and service. 2. The sites of the work aro located within the City Limits of Salina, Kansas, exact locations being as indicated on the drawings. 3. The drawings governing and controlling the work and to which reference is made throughout these specifications consist of 9 sheets dated March 1960, identified under Project Number 155-86J, titled and indexed as follows: Title Sheet and Index 1. Location Map 2. Ash Street - Pavement Plan 3. Ash Street - Grading Plan 4. Elm Street - Pavement Plan 5. Elm Street - Grading Plan 6:' 12' x 12' Reinforced Concrete Box 7. 10' x 10' Reinforced Concrete Box S. Construction Details 9. Sluice Gate Manhole Details at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said pre"sal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be j issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $93,498.75 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than April 1,� 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full fore* from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
