6442 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA ORDINANCE NUMBER 6442 (Published in The Salina Journal AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the Brown and Brown Construction Company for the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Brown and Brown Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 26, 1960, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 3, 1960, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Hazel Court with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the west line of Ohio Street to the north line of Greeley Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2312. The paving and grading of Antrim Avenue with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of Tenth Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2232. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Barney Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the north line of Lincoln Street to the south line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided for by Ba"laftion Number 2213. The paving and grading of Clark Street with eoacrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Spruce Street to the south line of Lot 8, Block 6, Walnut Grove Addition, as provided for by Resolution Number 2260. The paving and grading of College Avenue with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the north line of South Street to the north line of Morrison Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2252. The paving and grading of Franklin Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Sherman Street to the east line of Custer Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2249. The paving and grading of Franklin Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of SharidaW Street to the east line of Merrill Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2250. The paving and grading of Illinois Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the east line of Sheridap Street to the west line of Custer Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2251. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Lewis Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33)feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the north line of Manor Road to the south line of Millwood Drive as provided for by Resolution Number 2247. The paving and grading of Martin Avenue with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from boo of guttbr-_to')toe sof gutter) from the west line of Beatrice Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2281. The paving and grading of Ohio Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to track of curb) from the south line of Wayne Avenue to the south line of Oxford Drive, as provided for by Resolution Number 2267. The paving and grading of Overhill Road with concrete (Twenty (20) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Country Club Road to the east line of lairdale Road, as provided for by Resolution Number 2230. The paving and grading of Pearl Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Belmont Boulevard to the south line of t 18, Block 10, Belmont Addition, as provided for by Resolution Number 2268. The paving and grading of North Third Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the north line of Woodland Avenue, as provided for by Resolution Number 2231. The paving and grading of Venango Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the east line of Custer Street to the west line of Sherman Street, as provided for by Resolution (umber 2259, The paving and grading of Venango Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Sheridan Street to the east line of Merrill Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2283. The paving and grading of Wilson Avenue with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Tenth Street, as provided for by Resolution Number 2248. The curbing, guttering, and grading of Second Street from a point 28 feet south of the north line of Lot 15, Block 6, Rutahinsen's Addition to the south line of Lot 19 of said Sleek, as provided for by Resolution Number 2261. The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Rahm Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Fourth Street to the east line of Third STreet, as provided for by Resolution Number 2319. at and for the unit price for said work contAtned in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements ascshevn by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred ti and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $151,824.20, for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 196A, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
