ORDINANCE NUMBER

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum, doing business as
C. N. McCollum Construction Company for the construction of j,ateral Sanitary Sewers 406
and 412, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof,
pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acdeptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the
C. N. McCollum Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as
sub*kitted to the Board of Commissioners on February 16, 1960, which is hereby found to be
the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarddd by the Board of Commissionez
of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on February
23, 1960, for the construction of curtain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas,
to -wit:
(1) An eight inch &lay pipe sewer beginning at an
existing manhole on the center line of easement
between Lot 5 and Lots 6, 7, and 8, in Block 2,
Southern View Addition,
(2) thence north to the center line of easement
on the north line of Lot 9 of said Block 2
(3) thence east following the center line of
easement on the north line of Lots 9, 10, and
11 of said Block 2, to a point 7 feet west of the
cast line of said Lot 11
(4) thence south along the center 11ne of easement
on the east side of Lot 11 of said Block 2 to the
center line of easement which is on the north line
of Lots 12, 13, and 14 of said Block 2,
(5) thence east along the center line of said
easement on the north line of Lots 12, 13, and 14
to a point 5 feet east of the west line of Lot 14,
Block 2, Southern View Addition where a manhole
will be built which will be the terminus of Lateral 406.
(1) An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an
existing wet well at the northeast corner of Lot 12,
Block 1, of Claremont Heights Addition,
(2) thence east along the south line of Greeley
Avenue to the center line of easement of Block 1,
Riker Manor Addition,
(3) thence south along the center line of said
easement through Blocks 1 and 10 of said Riker
Manor Addition to the center line of Brookwood
Lane, where a manhole will be built which will be
the terminus of Lateral 412.
at and for the unit price for said work oontained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk
which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the

plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of th
City Clerk and in accordance with the proposals of said contractor and under the terms of
said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.

Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be

issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
tthe total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $ �� ,�"./ 7 for such work, such

notes to bear interest at not to excded 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than
December 1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as sky the money for

the payment of thehcost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractot

and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in
lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
