A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE
CITY CLERK TO ATTEST SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NUMBER 1 BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, AND WILSON AND COMPANY, ENGINEERS
AND ARCHITECTS FOR DESIGN SERVICES RELATED TO THE REHABILITATION
OF THE EXISTING TREATMENT FACILITIES AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF
ADVANCED TREATMENT FACILITIES AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT
PLANT NUMBER ONE.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas has scheduled improvements to
Wastewater Treatment Plant Number 1; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to further upgrade the existing
Wastewater Treatment Plant Number 1 facilities to include effluent disinfection
which is a requirement of the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES) Permit which became effective on July 9, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the NPDES Permit required construction of the effluent
disinfection facility to be complete by December 1, 1993 and achieve
compliance with the final effluent limits by December 31, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to revise the original scope of
professional engineering services to include the preparation of a Wastewater
Treatment Plant 1 - Effluent Disinfection Study and final design of the
process, as recommended by the study, SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE 1T RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the
City Clerk to attest Supplemental Agreement Number 1 between the City of
Salina, Kansas and Wilson and Company, Engineers and Architects for design
services related to the rehabilitation of the existing treatment facilities and
the construction of advanced treatment facilities at the Wastewater Treatment
Plant Number 1.
Section 2. That the total cost of the specified design related
services shall not exceed eighty-seven thousand three hundred twenty-five
dollars ($87,325) without prior authorization by the City Commission.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
13th day of April, 1992.
