6398 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SAUNA ORDINANCE NUMBER 6398 i (Published in The Salina Journal _ y' , 1959) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the M. L. Parish Construction Company for the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designat as Engineering Job 394, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Cn issioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the M. L. Parish Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 24, 1959, which is hereby found to be the lowest best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on December 8, 1959, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: North Parking of Max Avenge From the east line of Quincy Street to the west line of Norton Street in said City and abutting Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, in Block 1, Southern View Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. East Parking of Quincy Street from the south line of Leslie Avenue to the North line of Wayne Avenue, in said City and abutting Lots 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, in Block 1, South Field Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. South Parking of Oak Circle from the West line of Beach Street to the west line of Lot 1, Block 4, Circle Addition in said City and abutting Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, in Block 4, Circle Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. North Parking of Cloud Avenue abutting the East k of Lot 98 on Cloud Avenue, Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition. East Parking of Ninth Street abutting Lots 88, 90, and North k of Lot 92 on Ninth Street, Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition. East Parking of Quincy Street and South Parking of Leslie Avenue abutting Lot 15, Block 1, South Field Addition. The east parking of Lewis Avenue in said City and abutting Lots 1 and 18, in Block 2, Claflin Addition. North Parking of Bachtold Avenue from the east line of Cherokee Drive to the wort line of Oak Street in said City and abutting Lots 1 to 16 inclusive in Block 7, in Likins Foster Addttion to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. That certain portions of the sidewalk on the south side of Park Street between College Avenue and Phillips Street, abutting upon north 60 feet of Lot 45 and north 60 feet of the east 2/3 of Lot 47 in Wilson Addition of Salina; and on the west side of College Avenue between Elm Street and Park Street, abutting upon the north 94.66 feet of Lot 44 of Weavers Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and I contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City NAgtaeer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. CONSOLIDATED-SALINA �1 1 Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by baw, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $7,513.40, for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1960, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the paymentI of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereo . Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
