RESOLUTION NUMBER 92-4510
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE BOARD OF CITY
COMMISSIONERS FINDINGS THAT CERTAIN STRUCTURES ARE UNSAFE OR
DANGEROUS, DIRECTING THE STRUCTURES BE REPAIRED OR REMOVED, AND
FIXING A REASONABLE TIME WITHIN WHICH THE REPAIR OR REMOVAL OF
SUCH STRUCTURES SHALL BE COMMENCED AND COMPLETED.
WHEREAS, on August 17, 1992, the City's Chief Building Official filed
with the Board of City Commissioners a written statement that certain
structures located within the City of Salina were unsafe or dangerous, and
WHEREAS, of those structures included in the Chief Building Officials
written statement, certain structures have either been repaired or removed.
The Chief Building Official has advised the Board of City Commissioners that
the following structures located upon the described real estate continue to be
unsafe or dangerous:

WHEREAS, on August 17, 1992, the Governing Body of the City of
Salina, Kansas, adopted Resolution Number 92-4496, determining 4:00 p.m. on
September 28, 1992, in Room 200 of the City -County Building, 300 West Ash,
Salina, Kansas, to be the time and place at which the owner, the owner's
agent, any lienholders of record, and any occupant of such structure could
appear and show cause why such structures should not be condemned and
ordered repaired or demolished, and
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of the hearing was given as
required by statute; and
WHEREAS, upon considering the evidence presented regarding the
structures located upon the above described real estate, the Governing Body
desires to make its findings and direct certain action in relation to the
structures, SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the following findings are made regarding the
structures located upon the real estate described above:
The structures were found to be structurally unsound and dilapidated
and are unsafe or dangerous.

Section 2. That the owner or agent is hereby directed to repair or
remove the structure or structures described above, and to make the premises
safe and secure. Such work shall be commenced by October 1, 1992 on all
tracts and shall be diligently prosecuted, which should allow for substantial
completion of the work no later than November 15, 1992.
Section 3. If the owner or agent fails to commence the repair or
the removal as directed within the time stated or fails to diligently prosecute
the work until the work is substantially completed within the stated time
period, the Governing Body will cause the structure or structures to be razed
and removed pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1755 .
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk
shall cause it to be published once in the official city newspaper as required
by K.S.A. 12-1753.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
28th day of September, 1992.
