ORDINANCE _atif ing and confirming a contract with the
��. for the construction of certain improvements on certain streetsr
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of tomporaty notes to pay the't
cost thereof pending the issuance and sA3e of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section -1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the

hereinafter referred to as the
"Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 6, 1960, which is
hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, to said contractor and signed on behalf of
the City by its Mayor on September 13, 1960, for the construction of certain public
improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Tia curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Albert
Avenuo with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from
back of curb to back of curb) from the.west side of
Quincy Street to the east right-of-way of the Union
Pacific Railroad.
The paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue with concrete
(Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of
gutter) from the east line of Lewis Street to the west
line of Ohio Street.
The paving and grading of Fourth Street with concrete
(Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe
of gutter) from the south line of Antrim Avenue to the
South line of Otis Avenue.
The paving and grading of Fourth Street with concrete
(Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe
of gutter) from the north line of Otis Avenue to the south
line of Euclid Avenue.
The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Greeley
Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back
of curb to back of curb) from the west line of Indian Rock
Park to the west line of Lot 13, Block 1, Indian Rock
Addition.
The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Greeley Avenue
with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of
curb to back of curb) from the west line of Lot 13, Block
1, Indian Rock Addition to the east line of Ohio Street.
The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Baskett
Avenue with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back
of curb to back of curb) from the south line of Ingermanson
Second Addition to the south line of Meadowlark Lane.
The curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Leslie Avenue

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the sane is hereby!
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvementsi
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk,
Much estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be
issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law,
the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $ 17 y--.aV for such work, suc
notes to bear interest not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than
December 1, 1961, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the
payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and
cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its adoption and publication once in the official city paper.
