ORDINANCE NO. 6476

An ordinance condemning certain land within the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas, for the public use of the City of Salina, Kansas.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, is authorized by Laws of
Kansas, 1959, Chapter 78, to erect, construct, furnish and equip public
buildings, and procure any necessary site therefor by gift, purchase or
condemnation.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
on the 14 day of June, 1960, passed Resolution No. 2368 deeming it ad-
visable and in the public interest that public buildings be provided
for the storing of equipment of the city park, street, refuse and garbage
departments.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
on the 14 day of June, 1960, passed Resolution No. 2368 providing for
the erecting, constructing, furnishing and equipping buildings, and
procuring the necessary site therefor, and for other necessary costs;
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared and filed with the City
Clerk plans and specifications for said buildings;
WHEREAS, all legal requirements pertaining to such improvements
has been complied with and preliminary planning, engineering and land
acquisition have been completed.
SO, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. The following described land is hereby condemned and
appropriated for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the erect-
ing, constructing, furnishing and equipping a public building, to -wit:
Lot Four (4), Surveyor's Plat I of Mill Reserve
Number Two (2) in the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas.
Section 2. That Rudolph Barta, City Attorney, is hereby ordered
to forthwith prepare and present in the name of the Board of Commis-
sioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, a written application to the
Judge of the District Court of Saline County, Kansas, praying for an
order of appointment of commissioners to make appraisement and assess-
ment of damages arising from the appropriation of said real estate
described in Section 1 hereof and do and perform all things in and
about procuring and recording said order of appointment required by
law.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the official city paper.
