6560 Flood Levee ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 I L LJ ORDINANCE NUMBER 6560 (Published in The Salina Journal AuAu.5+ '7 , 1961) .AK ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with B. J. Frick and Company for the construction of Levee Fencing as designated and authorized by Resolution Number 2478, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, of the proposal of the B. J. Frick and Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 25, 1961, in the amount of $8,892.97 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on August 1, 1961, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. Work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, construction equipment, materials, except Owner -furnished guard rail complete with all parts, and performing all operations required to construct barbed wire, galvanized fabric and chain link security fencing complete with gates and padlocks; install owner -,furnished guard rail, and all other work not shown or specified but essential to the proper completion of the project, including precautionary work necessary for the protection of workmen, general public and new and existing structures. All work shall be completed in accordance with the detailed drawings and specifications. 2. The sites of the work are located in Saline County, the exact locations being as shown on the drawings. Extent of fencing and exact location of fencing at each site will be as directed in the field. 3. The drawings governing and controlling the work, and to which reference is made throughout these specifications, consist of 3 sheets dated March 1961, identified under Project File No. 155-86R, titled and indexed as follows: 1. Location Map 2. Typical Cross Sections and Details 3. Security Fence Details & Tabulation at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $8,892.97 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than July 1, 1964, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment CONSOLIDATED-SALINA 7 1 of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
