ORDINANCE NO. 6551
AN ORDINANCE providing penalty for overparking and payment
thereof, amending 27-2316 (d) the Code of the City of Salina,
Kansas, 1960, and repealing said original section.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. 27-2316 (d) of the Code of the City of Salina,
Kansas, 1960, is hereby amended to read as follows:
27-2316
(d) Any other facts a knowledge of which is necessary to a
thorough understanding of the circumstances attending such viola-
tion.
Each police officer shall attach to such vehicle a notice to
the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parked
in violation of the provision of this article. Each such owner or
operator, may, within twenty-four (24) hours of the time when such
notice was attached to such vehicle enclose said notice with
fifty cents (500) and deposit the sande in the courtesy fine collec-
tion box attached to certain parking meter posts or pay the same to
the desk sergeant at the police station as a penalty for and in
full satisfaction of such violation. If said penalty is not paid
within twenty-four (24) hours of the time when such notice was at-
tached to such vehicle the penalty for such violation shall be One
Dollar ($1.00) payable to the desk sergeant at the police station,
the failure of such owner or operator to make such provision within
said twenty-four (24) hours shall render said owner or operator
subject to the tienalties hereinafter provided for violation of the
provisions of this article.
Section 2. 27-2316 (d) of the Code of the City of Salina,
Kansas, 1960, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
frons and after publication in the official city paper.
