6549 Street ImprovementsCONSOLIDATED -SALIVA i ORDINANCE NUMBER 6549 (Published in The Salina Journal , 1961) i AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Rhodes Construction Company for the construction of Mulberry Street and Walnut Street 'Smoky Hill River Crossings, as designated and authorized by Resolution Numbers 2432 and 2433, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, of the proposal of the Rhodes Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 27, 1961, in the amount of $79,838.70, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissione of said City to said Contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 11, 1961, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: 1. Work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, construction equipment, materials and performing all operations required to construct Mulberry Street and Walnut Street Smoky Hill River Crossings, including j dewatering of the construction sites, construction of one 26 foot roadway width continuous reinforced concrete slab bridge, 122 feet 6 inches in j length, and one 26 foot roadway width continuous reinforced concrete slab bridge, 92 feet 6 inches in length, each with pile pent piers and abutments, compacted embankments, granular leveling course, concrete pavement, monolithic curb, walks, inlets, installation of drainage pipe, stone riprap, guard fence; removal of existing bridges and other obstructions interfering with new construction; preparation and cleanup of the site, including disposal of excess materials and removal of unused items and waste, together with all miscellaneous and incidental work required to complete each crossing, ready for use and service. 2. The sites of the work are located within the City limits of Salina, Kansas, exact locations being as indicated on the drawings. 3. The drawings governing and controlling the work and to which reference is made throughout these specifications consist of 17 sheets dated February 1961, identified under Project No. 155-86N. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereb ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2s 'Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $79,838.70 for such work, such notes s CONSOLIDATED -SALIVA to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per cent per annum and to mature not later than July 1, j 1964, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be I redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
